May 24, 2025 — Over Memorial Day weekend, the Wesco Youth Lacrosse League took another major step in its inaugural season, sending three all-star teams to compete in the annual High School Championship and Youth All-Star Games at Starfire Sports in Tukwila.
The event, held on May 24, brought together youth and high school players from across Washington for a full day of competition — including four high school championship games, three high school all-star matchups, and sixteen youth games.
Wesco was represented in the 3/4, 5/6, and 7/8 divisions, facing off against top all-star teams from other leagues around the state.
The 3/4 Wesco All-Stars kicked things off with a strong performance against the Central Washington Lacrosse League All-Stars, coming away with a 14–12 win. The game was fast-paced and competitive throughout, with Wesco building a lead and holding on down the stretch to secure the league’s first all-star victory.
The 5/6 and 7/8 Wesco teams each squared off against South Sound Lacrosse’s Blue teams, both known for their size, speed, and experience. While Wesco came up short in both games, players showed strong fundamentals, good teamwork, and represented their league well in its first year on the statewide stage.
Each player wore a custom Wesco all-star jersey — blue at the shoulders fading to white at the hem — personalized with their name and number. Whether they played in the games or were unable to attend, all all-star selectees received a certificate of recognition, signed by the league president, honoring their achievement.
The day was a celebration of lacrosse at all levels, and a proud moment for Wesco. For the players who suited up — and the league that sent them — it was a chance to compete, connect, and take part in something bigger than a single season.
